George D. Miller, 86, of Jonestown and formerly of Coatesville, passed away on Tuesday, February 08, 2022 in Traditions of Hershey.

Born in Coatesville on December 04, 1935, he was the son of the late Norman and Elizabeth Borden Miller.

George served on active duty with the U.S. Air Force and then in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.

He retired from the Lebanon County Career and Technology Center where he had been a Computer Technology instructor for thirty-six years.

George attended St. John's (Gernant's) Church in Leesport.

He was a member of the Lickdale American Legion, the Palmyra Veterans of Foreign Wars, the National Rifle Association, the Lebanon County Poetry Society, and was the County Poet Laureate for a year.

George authored "The Last Train to Montana" and hundreds of poems.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Joyce E. Kennedy Miller; his grandson: Ty; and, his sisters: Helen and Norma.

George is survived by his sons: G. Dane (Chiyo) Miller of Reading and Darryl G. (Jennifer Zemba) Miller of Jonestown; his granddaughters: Ashley and Brittany; his grandsons: Kai, Brooks, and Dane; and, his ten great-grandchildren.

A Viewing will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 09:00 - 10:00 AM in Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 AM.

Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 11:30 AM.
