Daniel E. Fouts, 52, Coatesville (Heritage Lake), passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022.

Dan was born on April 20, 1969 in Wabash, Ind. He was the son of David Fouts and Carol (Betzner) Fouts.

He married Betsy (Fox) Fouts and she survives him in addition to his three children, Jackson Kendall, Madison Kendall and Phoebe Fouts. He is also survived by his brother, John Fout; sister Debra Fouts; sisters-in-law Cindy Stone and Michelle Fouts and brother-in-law, Rick Stone.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry Fouts.

Dan began teaching and coaching at North Putnam in 1992. He has worked with generations of families during his 30 years. His students made a goal out of trying to make him smile during class and many found that they understood math while with him. Through coaching, he was a mentor and friend to many.

He was a quiet man that impacted the lives of every person he came in contact with and he truly loved every role he played in the community.

By far, his favorite role was as a loving husband and father and his family adored him. He looked forward to the time he spent with his family. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, woodworking and anything to do with sports.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the North Putnam High School gymnasium on Saturday, Feb. 19 from 1-2:30 p.m. The family is requesting that all people wear orange and blue (cougar gear).

Instead of flowers, Dan would have preferred that you go out of your way to do a kind thing for someone else.

Dan Fouts is gone way too soon, but will never be forgotten.
