Mildred D. Shepherd
Mildred D. Shepherd, 89, Columbia, KY passed away Friday, September 20, 2002 at the Hospice Care Center in Port Orange, FL. She was a homemaker and a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church in Indiana and attended the Millerfield Brethren in Christ Church. Mrs. Shepherd worked many years of her life, the last being at the Dallas Morning News, Dallas, TX. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed sports, being an avid fan of basketball and football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. She also enjoyed opening the winters in Florida.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford C. Shepherd, Columbia, KY; one son, Wayne Shepherd, Lizton, IN; four daughters, Virginia (Bob) Wills, Thornton, IN, Linda Cunningham, Celina, IN, Donna (David) See, Ruskin, FL. and Beverly (Joe) Allison, Greenwood, IN; one sister, Grace Breitweiser, Deland, FL; fifteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, two sisters, two brothers, two grandchildren and one great grandson.
Funeral services were Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at the Millerfield Brethren in Christ Church with Bro. Richard Lehman officiating.
Interment was in the Tarter Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John Wills, Scott Vidito, Joe Allison, Chris Allison, Richard Franklin and Chris Dearborn.
Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
