Mr. Robert W. Hutchison Sr. of Fredericksburg passed away on Friday, February 11th at the age of 87 years.

Robert W. Hutchison Sr. was born on June 12th,1934 in Brownwood, Texas to Robert W. and Elinor Spratt Hutchison

He married Linda Bennie on June 4th,1960 in the First Baptist Church, Cisco, Texas

Mr. Hutchison is survived by his wife: Linda Hutchison of Fredericksburg; One daughter, two sons: Robert and Barbara Hutchison Jr. of Leander, Scot and Kaye Hutchison of Houston, Jill and Larry Lawson of Colorado

Three grandchildren: Sarah and Jarrod Branam, Gabriel Hutchison and Isabella Hutchison

Sister: Diane Kempton of Austin

Robert is preceded in death by his parents: son: David Bryant Hutchison and a brother: Michael Hutchison

Robert worked as a Draftsman with Shell Oil company for 33 years. He was a very devoted church member for the majority of his life serving in many ways in his local churches including Sunday school teacher, deacon, and choir member. Robert had a passion for the outdoors volunteering with the Colorado State Parks and Wildlife and the National Forest service. He was a leader as a Boy Scout Master and YMCA football coach.

He instilled the love for the outdoors in his children leaving memories of canoeing on the Guadalupe river, fly fishing, camping, and hiking. He was a very talented woodworker and artist. As for one example, he made several canoes for his grandchildren. Most of the furniture in his children's homes crafted and built by him.

He instilled many valuable skills and lessons in family and friends through his work, service, artistry, and church ministry.

Graveside services and interment will be held on Saturday, February 19th at 2 P.M. in the Ebony Cemetery in Mills County, Texas

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be given in his memory to the First Baptist Church of Fredericskburg
