Burial will be in Levelland Cemetery under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock.
He died Tuesday, May 7, 2002.
He was born April 30, 1921, in Killeen and married Billye Byrd on April 4, 1942, in Abilene. He graduated from Wingate High School and served during World War II as a Navy Seabee. He owned and operated Polk Home Furnishings Inc. in Levelland from 1970 to 1985 and Ace Real Estate from 1975 to 1995.
He was a member of the Levelland Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, and served two terms on the Levelland City Council. He was a deacon in the Second Baptist Church of Levelland for 50 years and was a member of Broadview Baptist Church of Lubbock. He was a resident of Levelland for 52 years and moved to Lubbock in 1996.
He was preceded in death in 1981 by a daughter, Beverly Polk-Warren, and a grandchild.
