Mrs. Lawson was born in Union, December 28, 1941, a daughter of the late George A. Royster, Jr. and Cecille John Royster. She was a 1960 graduate of Union High School and retired from Arthur State Bank after many years. Mrs. Lawson was a member of Bogansville United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and nursery worker. She also was a former West Springs Girl Scout Troop Leader and former Union High School Booster Club President. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed growing and sharing her beautiful roses. A devoted wife and mother, she loved helping with the care of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Judi Lancaster and husband Richie of Buffalo; a son, Jeff Lawson of Putman; seven grandchildren, Kacie Lawson, Chris Smith, Mandy Reich, Megan Lancaster, Jesse Fleming, Sam Lawson and Jacob Lawson; six great-grandchildren, Abbi Lawson, Sydney Reich, Nathan Smith, Seth McAbee, Isabelle Smith and Christian Lawson; and two special friends, Peggy Henderson and Joan Stevens. Mrs. Lawson was predeceased by a daughter, Jana Lawson Fleming, and two brothers, George A. "Dickie" Royster, III and Kenneth Dale "Kenny" Royster.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 14, 2022, at Bogansville United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Wally Culp and Mr. Bob Redmon.
Visitation will be held in the church Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM.
