Micheal James Burns, 69 of Pine Bluff, passed away on Thursday morning, February 3 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Micheal was born October 12, 1952 in Brassfield, Arkansas to Joffra Burns Sr. and Mary Etta Thompson-Burns. He was one of eight children born to this union.

Micheal received his education from the Biscoe Public School system. He received his GED from the Arkansas Career Development Center in Hot Springs, where he also received his certification as a Small Engine Mechanic. Lastly he attended Crowley's Ridge Technical Institute in Forrest City, where he received certification as a Master Welder

Micheal was an active member of Jericho Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff for more than 13 years, where he served as a member of the Deacon Board. He was formerly a member of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church, also in Pine Bluff for many years.

Micheal worked as Master Welder in Little Rock for many years before retiring. He formerly worked as a Truck Driver for Cato Trucking in Pine Buff, School Bus Driver for the Laidlaw Corporation in Little Rock and Grounds Specialist for Burns Grounds Maintenance Company also in Pine Bluff.

Micheal was united in holy matrimony to Linda F. Myers on June 9, 1980. To this union three children were born.

His parents: Joffra Burns Sr., and Mary Etta Burns; two brothers: Charles Burns and Reginald Burns all preceded Michael in death.

Survivors are: his wife of 42 years Linda F. Burns of Pine Bluff, AR; a son Minister Christopher Myers Sr. of Pine Bluff, AR; two daughters: Lesley Burns of White Hall, AR; and Latina Myers of Pine Bluff, AR; six grandchildren: Calicia Tisdale of White Hall, AR; Kalia Green, Kaleb Green, Kristian Myers and Kingston Morris all of Pine Bluff, AR; and Christopher Myers Jr. of North Little Rock, AR; three brothers: Joffra Burns Jr. and Juan Stephen (J'Avonnlon) Burns both of Pine Bluff, AR; and Donald Burns of St. Louis, MO; a sister Elizabeth (Robert) Weeams of Denver, CO; and a host of other relatives and friends survive him.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, morning February 12 at 11 AM at Branscumb Funeral Home Chapel, 911 North Main Street in Brinkley with Pastor Micheal Barnett officiating. Interment will take place at Harris Cemetery in Biscoe. For.more information please call (870) 734-2772
