Philip Elvin Thompson, 88, died February 8, 2022, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. He was born June 13, 1933, in Garfield, KS, to Merle Edward and Doris Ersuella (Bishop) Thompson.

Philip graduated from Sterling High School in 1951. He worked as a realtor for 16 years, Cessna nine years, and in banking as a data processor for 21 years. Philip was a huge KU Jayhawk fan, and was known for wearing cowboy hats and western shirts.

Philip is survived by: children, Pamala Stansel (Lynn), Mitchell Thompson, Donald Thompson (Natalie), and Bradley Thompson (Nancy); sisters, Twila Price and Eva Huntsman; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Lee Thompson; sister, Leah Currie; and brother, Neil Thompson.

Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 West 4th Ave, Hutchinson, with The Reverend Kent H. Little officiating. Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary. The casket will remain closed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
