Yvonne Marie Harrison, 87, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Monday evening, February 7, 2022 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri. Yvonne was born October 11, 1934 in Sledge, Mississippi, the daughter of Ralph Holmes and Margaret (Welch) Holmes. She married Nailor Harrison, Sr. on February 11, 1963 in Athens, Texas. She volunteered at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Carthage where she was a faithful member for many years. Yvonne loved animals, enjoyed singing and songwriting, visiting friends, but most of all, loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Wells (Aaron), Carthage, and Margaret Spry (Rocky), Carthage; a son, Nailor Harrison, Jr. (Maggie), Carthage; a brother, Tommy Holmes; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren with two on the way; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nailor Harrison, Sr.; and three brothers, Billy Holmes, Earl Holmes, and Ralph "Mushie" Holmes.
Funeral mass will be held 1 pm, Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Webb City, Missouri. Burial will follow the service at Park Cemetery, Carthage. The family will receive friends from 5 pm – 8 pm, Friday, February 11, 2022 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Memorial gifts are suggested to St. Ann's Catholic Church, Carthage in care of Knell Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary.
