Dewey Ernest Alfman 69 of Oakfield passed away Wednesday February 9, 2022, at his residence.
He was born August 29, 1952, in Morgan County a son of the late Lawrence and Beulah Webb Alfman.
He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with his boys and grandkids; Dewey loved the outdoors especially hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting. He retired from Superior Fibers in Shawnee.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Jo Ann Peacock Alfman; his sons Doug (Diana) Alfman of Jackson, Ga., Don Alfman of the home and Dan Alfman of Oakfield; grandchildren Drake, Duke, Scarlett and Darla Alfman. Step grandchildren Dylan and Devin Grandstaff; his siblings Mary (Burchell) Perani Sr., Patty (Clark) Hurst, Linda (Brad) Dalrymple, Dave (Julie) Alfman and Tim (Sonia) Alfman; brother and sister in laws Betty Davis, Wanda Dixon, Peggy Peacock, Judy (John) Lonberger, Jim (Jenny) Peacock and Tim (Angie) Peacock; special nieces Sis Peacock, Sierra Justice and Tuesday Dennis; special nephew Burchie (Martha) Perani. Special aunt Kathy Chaffin.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son Dewey Jr.; brothers Earl Alfman and Lawrence Alfman Jr.; brother in laws that he thought of as brothers Kenny and Billy Peacock.
Friends may call from 4-8 pm on Saturday February 12, 2022, at the J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home 118 W. Walnut Street, Shawnee.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Sunday February 13, 2022, at the funeral home, where the family encourages friends and family to come and share their stories and memories of Dewey
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Corning.
