San Angelo - Charles Lyn "Charlie" Stewart, 75, of San Angelo, passed away on February 9, 2022. Born in Seattle, Washington March 19, 1946, he got to Texas as quickly as possible, growing up in Del Rio and Carta Valley, Texas. Mildred (Bode) and Harry Stewart adopted him at a very young age.

Graduating from Rock Springs High School in 1964, he then went on to rodeo for Uvalde Junior College, as well as, Texas A&M University, where he was president of the rodeo association. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in 1969, he became an 8th-grade science teacher and junior high girls' basketball coach. His love for agriculture drew him to numerous positions in the ag industry. Along with his beloved dog Ripper, they became the Pen Managers at San Angelo Packing for several. Later, finding a passion for manufacturing livestock feeders, he founded Circle S Feeders. Raising goats and sheep with his wife, Karla, is where he spent his last many years.

Charlie married Karla (McAshan) on July 1, 1976. They made their home with their daughters, Jaime and Celie, in San Angelo. Charlie was his daughters' and grandchildren's greatest fan. You could often find him in the stands at a rodeo, stock show, barrel race, or athletic event, cheering loudly.

His parents and two brothers, Herman Lee and Sammy, preceded him in death.

Survivors include Karla, of the home, Jaime Ross (Corey) of Bertram, Celie Locke (Jim) of Miami, grandchildren Londyn and Seth Ross, and Lettie and Jentry Locke. He is also survived by sister-in-law Jacque Rich (Sam) of Andrews, nephew Jimmy Barton (Carol), and great-niece Landry Barton.

A viewing will be held at Shaffer Funeral Home on Sherwood Way on Sunday, February 13, 2022, from 9:00 am - 8:00 pm. A celebration of life will be held Monday, February 14, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the San Angelo Cowboy Church, 4015 North Chadbourne. Lunch reception to be announced at service.

In lieu of flowers, the Stewart family asks that memorials be made to the Humane Society of Tom Green County or the Roberts
