Carrie Patricia Price Gibson of Charlottesville, Virginia, died on February 4, 2022, at the age of 89.

Pat was born on October 23, 1932, in Nottoway County, Virginia, and was predeceased by her parents, Bartlett Yancy "B.Y." Martin Sr. and Helen Lucille Hopson Martin; and two of her siblings, June Martin Fletcher and Bartlett Yancy "B.Y." Martin Jr.

As a cheerleader, she fell in love with Henry James "Jim" Price on the football team and they later married. When recently asked if her dear son, David, got his amazing athleticism from his football player father, she referenced the many years spent playing golf with Jim and said, "Jim was big and strong and could whack the ball. But David got his athleticism from me." She was a fantastic golfer, and truly loved both the sport and the time spent with friends on the golf course at Farmington Country Club. Even at the age of 89, she enjoyed golfing recently with her friends, Robin and Butch Hester.

Jim and Pat founded Jim Price Automotive, which has been a staple of the Charlottesville community for more than 50 years. She was known and loved by so many for her generosity, philanthropy and caring nature.

Pat and Jim Price enjoyed a full marriage, and he affectionately called her by the nickname "Frog." She had beautiful little frog knick-knacks around her house to remind her of the deep love they shared. They worked hard, served others, traveled the world, and had so much fun. They built a family, a business, a home and an incredible life. Their chapter was sadly cut short when Jim passed away in 2002.

Though she forever carried her beloved Jim in her heart, in 2006 Pat was able to start a new chapter with her cherished husband, Joseph Edwin "Joe" Gibson. Together they enjoyed many years of laughter, love and friendship until his passing in 2020. They especially enjoyed their many winters in Marco Island, though their adored dog, Liza, was sent to winter in the much less temperate Richmond climate. Through Joe, she also gained her crew of Gibsons, and enjoyed every fun and wonderful moment spent with Richard, Sharon, Christian, Bob, Ryan, Cullen, Lesa, Pam, Jay, Cara and Jason.

Above all, she was devoted to her family. She was a sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her sister, Kadra Martin Bradford, and brother-in-law, Norman F. Bradford, will miss "Perky" greatly. She treasured her daughter, Sandra Price Amato, and Sandy's wonderful husband, Len (and Sandy will greatly miss their Saturday manicures and Sunday dinners), and her son, David James Price (who sadly passed away in 2017 and who we know she is happy to be with once again).
The loves of her life were her grandchildren, Spencer Price, Patrick Price, Brooke Price Schultz and Brooke's husband, Trevor, and Jay Amato and Jay's wife, Rachel, and her great-grandchildren, Remi Schultz, Henry Amato and Wesley Amato. She was so immensely proud of them all, and they will always smile at their many memories made with their "Nana."

Pat will be laid to rest at Monticello Memorial Gardens on Friday, February 11, 2022, at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice in Pat's honor.
