LINDA'S OBITUARY
Linda Eileen (Cole) Smith, 73, of Sand Springs passed early Sunday morning, February 6, 2022 to her Heavenly Home, joining her husband Vernon, who had been waiting for her since 2020.
Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Services has been entrusted with the care of her arrangements.
Linda was born on October 1, 1948 to Dr. Garnet M. and Maxine A. (Carter) Cole in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She graduated from Daniel Webster H.S in Tulsa, then earned a B.A. Degree in Education from Oklahoma Baptist University. Linda met and married the love of her life in Tulsa, Vernon Duane Smith, making their home in Sand Springs, where they raised their children. Linda worked as an insurance associate for Metropolitan Life until retiring in 2015. She attended Notchietown Baptist Church in Gore, where she played the piano.
Linda enjoyed fishing, playing the piano, travelling with her family and loved her children and grandchildren. She was especially fond of Carlos Santa music.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who adored and cherished her family.
Survivors include, two daughters, Leslie (Jeff) Fairchilds, Jordan (Frank) Thomas; mother and father, Maxine and Dr. Garnet Cole; brother, G. Mitchell (Glenna) Cole; three grandchildren, Raegan and Austin Clary, and Camilla Thomas and other relatives and friends.
Linda was preceded by her husband, Vernon, and sister Marsha Cole (Memorial # 167907343).
Memorial Services will be held Friday February 11, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service, Sand Springs.
