The youngest of three boys, Ron was born October 10, 1943 in Flushing, New York, the son of George Martin and Eleanor (Able) Norman. His father's employment with American Airlines relocated them to Tulsa in 1948.

Ron attended Holy Family School and graduated with the first class at Bishop Kelley High School in 1961. While in school, he played football and attended Oklahoma State University. His career began in the service department of Bill White Chevrolet. It was there he would meet Jackie Neel, a customer whose vehicle was serviced by Ron all too often for several weeks after they met. Ron cherished his Jackie from the first moment he met her - until her passing in 2015. The couple married June 24, 1967 at St. Pius X Parish in Tulsa.

Ron was employed by several auto dealerships through the years including Bill White, Chalmers, and Speedway Chevrolet. Later in life, he was employed by James Hodge Ford in Muskogee, until his recent retirement in 2021. His dealership experience included the service department, finance, and mostly fleet sales where he excelled for many years. Ron truly knew all aspects of the automotive business.

The Bixby/Broken Arrow areas became Ron's home where he and Jackie decided to raise their children. He was President of the Broken Arrow Rotary Club, known by all to be a man devoted to the community. A licensed pilot who flew the Diamond Lil and PT-19, Ron was the President/Wingman of the Spirit of Tulsa Squadron at the RL Jones Riverside Airport. He absolutely loved aviation! He also enjoyed spending his Saturday mornings with his buddies riding their Harley Davidson motorcycles. Ron was devout in his Catholic faith, attending Mass weekly at Holy Family Cathedral.

Kind, gentle, and genuine are words that would best describe Ron Norman. He would always go out of his way to make everyone happy. A wonderful husband and father, most everyone who knew Ron considered him to be their hero. He was truly a man of his word and will be forever remembered by a host of family and friends who loved him.

Survivors include his two children, Jennifer McCowan of Jenks and Matthew Norman of Broken Arrow; his grandchildren, Ronald, Lillian, Robert, Olivia Jay, and Reese.

Ron was preceded in death by his son, Christopher; loving wife, Jacqueline; and his brothers, Eugene and Robert Norman.
