Daughter of Charles and Johanna (Franzmier) Kliche. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and attended school until the 8th grade. She married LeRoy "Sonny" L Smith on October 13, 1951 at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson, MN. She had worked for the Arthurs Motel, Paris Hotel, Raangards Café, Sale Barn Café and the Benson Bakery. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband over 69 years, LeRoy; granddaughter, Jessica Smith; grandson, Jamie Wyffels; sisters, Dorothy Kurkosky, Irene (in infancy); and brother, William Kliche. Surviving are her children, David (Julie) Smith and Diane (Tom) Wyffels - both of Benson, MN; grandchildren, Aaron (Sonja) Smith, Sonya (Greg) Pobud,a and Charlene (Kent) Coners; nine great-grandchildren; and nephew, Charles Kurkosky.
