Kevin Michael Smith, 54, of East Moline, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at OSF St Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory Ltd, Moline. Visitation will be 4 pm to 7 pm with a Masonic Service starting at 6:30 pm, Monday, February 14, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens.

Kevin was born on March 13, 1967, in Moline, the son of Thomas Alan and Sharon (Cunningham) Smith. He married Peggy Mackey and they had two sons, Kyle and Kurt. He later found the love of his life Lynn Evans and they has one son, Kane.

Kevin was a member of the Silvis Lodge #898 A.F. & A.M.. He was also a member of the Masonic Riders association as part of the Widows Sons. He worked at John Deere as an engineering manager.

Kevin was a devoted family man, who loved taking care of, providing for and being with family and friends.

He also loved the open road of life on his Harley, was John Deere-proud, rooted on his beloved Chicago Bears (including sitting solo in a Miami stadium to watch them compete in the Super Bowl), loved poker night with family and friends, loved to read books — a passion he passed on to his children — and was an avid gamer with his children and tabletop gamer with close friends. He also spent countless hours "chasing Pokémon" with his family.

Kevin was very generous with his time, from throwing on an apron to work a pancake breakfast to crewing on a hot-air balloon outing to attending a sporting or other event to support a niece or nephew to manning the grill on the Fourth of July and most recently playing the role of family Santa Claus.

Survivors include his mother, Sharon LeMaster, the love of his life of 16 years, Lynn Evans; children, Kyle Smith, Kurt Smith, Kane Smith; grandchild, Zane Smith; siblings, Erik (Petra) Smith, Tim (Wendi) Smith, Chris (Nicole) LeMaster, Sean (Stephanie) Smith; step siblings, Jeanine LeMaster, Jesse LeMaster; and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Tom, stepmother, Cindy Demarest; and stepfather, Jim LeMaster.
