MANSFIELD: William E. Fisher, age 81, of Mansfield went home to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, February 9, 2022 in his home following a long illness.

He was born November 15, 1940 in Olive Hill, Kentucky and moved to the Mansfield area as a young child.

An Army veteran, Bill served in Vietnam. He was stationed in Germany as a sharpshooter and was honorably discharged in 1965.

Bill worked at Taylor Metal Products, Mansfield Tire and Rubber and Ohio Brass.

On August 22, 2015 he married Roma (Jackson) Vollmer with whom he celebrated 6 years of marriage this past summer.

Bill served over 12 years as Senior Pastor of Mansfield Grace Temple, using his talents as a guitar player and a singer at church. He loved music especially Country Gospel.

Bill loved fishing, golfing and spending time outdoors. He was also known as a shameless flirt who never discriminated from infants, young children to grown adults, Bill loved playful interaction with the ladies.

In addition to his wife, Roma Fisher, Bill is survived by sons Bradley Fisher and Brandon Fisher; step-children Edna (Steve) Smith; three grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and sisters Erma Stone and Dottie Webb; adopted daughter and caregiver Nancy Hines-Adkins; dear friend and brother in Christ Jim Johnson; and canine friend Tara.

He was preceded in death by his mother Glenna Mae (Hall) Caster; and step-sons William Vollmer and Marty "John" Vollmer.

Friends may call Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 1-4 pm in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will be Monday at 11 am. Pastor Dan Clause will officiate and burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
