Roy C. Grant, 84, longtime resident of Sedro-Woolley passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Peace Health St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham, WA.
He was born May 25, 1930 in Seattle to Harold and Helen (Bird) Grant. He graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1948. Roy married Shirley Ann Parks on January 20, 1951 in Mount Vernon, WA. He owned and operated Grant Logging Company from 1952 to 1995.
He enjoyed boating in the San Juan Islands and was a member of the Swinomish Yacht Club. He also enjoyed gardening and trips to Maui. He was a member of the Sedro-Woolley Rotary and the Elks Club.
Roy is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Cynthia Grant; son, R. Cameron Grant and his wife, Sharon; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Ryan) Mackey and Kristi (Troy) Marks; and one great-granddaughter, Ryan Emily Mackey. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Betty Harris; 2 nieces, Sydnee (Tim) Payton and Tracy Harris; his beloved cat Bummy and numerous cousins in Canada.
At his request there will be no services. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley, WA.
