Rocky Lynn Moore, devoted husband, loving father, the best grumps, and faithful friend followed his Savior home on Monday, January 31, 2022, at the age of 56. Rocky was born October 23, 1965, in Stamford, TX to Carl Moore and Mary Ann (Nauert) Moore.

A 1984 graduate of Lueders-Avoca High School, Rocky entered Cisco Jr. College in Cisco, where he was a member of the rodeo team. While in high school Rocky was recognized as an All-State Player in basketball, scoring an average of 26 points per game.

In 1984 Rocky met the love of his life Ms. Daina Wright, and they were united in marriage on June 27, 1987, in Abilene, TX, a union that lasted 35 years and was blessed with 3 children.

Rocky was currently employed by the TDCJ, where he had worked the past 17 years. Rocky was involved in the community working for 20 years as the Swine Superintendent for the Jones County Livestock Association, he was elected to the Lueders-Avoca School Board for 18 years, serving as President much of the time, he was very involved in 4-H and FFA activities throughout his life. Rocky and Daina were members of the First Baptist Church in Avoca. Leisure time for Rocky was spent playing basketball, golf and he was an avid runner. His cherished time was being the "best grumps in the world", and cooking for his family.

Rocky was preceded in death by his mother, Maryann Moore, and a brother, Randy Moore.

His memories will be cherished by his wife, Daina Deneine Moore of the home; his father, Carl "Pete" Moore of Lueders, TX; son and daughter-in-law Jason Lynn and Karolina Moore of San Diego, CA and their children, Sterling Lynn Moore, and Rosalie Ann Moore; daughter and son-in-law, Kristen Grace and Roger Ted Miller, Jr. of Lueders, TX and their children, Rocky Creed Miller, Canon Grace Miller and Cru Delbert Commodor Miller; son and daughter-in-law, Riley Gene Moore and Chole Allen-Hobbs and children Hadley Kay Moore and Kolter Gene Moore; a brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Brenda Moore and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held in celebration of Rocky's life on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the Lueders Baptist Church with Rev. Les Mims officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Tankersley Funeral in Stamford, TX.
