Paul was born in Anderson on Oct. 15, 1943, the son of George and Violet (Key) McCormick. On March 17, 1963, in Anderson, he married Lois (Brummet) McCormick.
He retired from Delphi (Delco Remy) in 2015 after 25 years of service. He held an associate degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University.
Paul was active member of the Solid Rock Baptist Church in Pendleton where he had served as deacon for several years. He loved his family and his church family as well.
Paul was avid reader. He enjoyed reading his morning paper and finishing the crossword puzzles. He was a history buff, some considered him a walking history book. Paul played golf in years past but always was enjoyed hunting and fishing, and always looked forward to every opportunity to go hunting with family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years, Lois; his children, Tim (Ruth) McCormick and Angela McCormick; his grandchildren, Shane (Naomi) McCormick, Seth McCormick and Zander McCormick; his great-grandchildren, Shane (SJ) McCormick Jr., Addalynn McCormick and Esmae McCormick. Also surviving is a sister, Frances Fouts.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Todd McCormick.
Services to celebrate Paul's life will be on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Whetsel Funeral Service, Park Avenue Chapel, 1503 S. Park Ave., Alexandria, with Rev. Aaron Hargis officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m.
