Charles F. Gilbert

Charles Francis Gilbert, 70, Livingston, Texas, died unexpectedly Wednesday at Polk County Memorial Hospital in Livingston.

He was born Jan. 5, 1921, in Elwood, where he unto 1954, when he moved to Anderson for 23 years and then to Texas 14 years ago.

He retired in 1973 from Delco Remy after 34 years of employment. He was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church of Livingston, Texas, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8568, and Knights of Columbus of Livingston.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey Sylvester Gilbert, two sons Francis Anthony "Tony" Gilbert of Worth, Ill. and Larry Mac Tipton of Anderson, a brother John E. Gilbert of Anderson, a sister Katherine Hook of Elwood, two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at _ Monday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today and 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday and one hour before services Monday at the funeral home.
