Reverend George Thomas Kitchens, 89 of Collins, MS passed away Tuesday, February 08, 2022 at his Residence in Collins, MS. He was born Monday, March 14, 1932 in Seminary, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in 3302 Hwy 49, Collins, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 10:00am at Victory Heights Pentecostal Church in Ovett, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Daniel King Cemetery in Bassfield, MS. Reverend Jonathan Kitchens, Reverend Avery Kitchens, Reverend Colon Rowell, Reverend Kyle Kitchens, Reverend Joseph Kitchens, and Andy Kitchens will officiate. Billy M. King Colonial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-765-1010.

He was a devoted father, minister and friend to many. He preached the gospel for over 65 years. He pioneered and pastored several churches in five states. He made his living as a painter. He enjoyed preaching, singing, fishing, gardening and coconut cake. He loved his family and enjoyed time spent with them.

He was preceded in death by his son, David Lane Kitchens; father, George Benjamin Kitchens; mother, Mary Adeline Collins Kitchens; brothers, Charles Ray Kitchens and William Earl Kitchens; sister, Sadie Jewel Kitchens Culpepper; great grandson, Jeremiah Levi Kitchens; daughter-in-law, Angela Elmira Loper Kitchens.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Ward Kitchens of Collins, MS; sons, Thomas Steve Kitchens (Karen), Paul Douglas Kitchens, Joseph Mark Kitchens (Charlotte) of Collins, Benjamin Robert Kitchens, James Micah Kitchens (Rosemary), Victor Dwayne Kitchens (Jody) and Joel Andrew Kitchens (Nancy); daughter, Sharon Rose Kitchens Rand (Wayne); brothers, Ervin Kitchens, Alton Rayford Kitchens, Otis Edwin Kitchens, Johnny Ray Kitchens, Kenneth Fred Kitchens, Curtis Ray Kitchens and Jacky Jerry Kitchens; sisters, Grace Irene Kitchens Biggers and Bennie Rae Kitchens Ingram.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Kitchens, Avery Kitchens, Stevie Kitchens, Matt Kitchens, Aaron Rowell, and Forrest Kitchens.

Honorary pallbearers will be Blayne Kitchens, Kyle Kitchens, Justin Kitchens, Jason Brooks, Jacob Kitchens, and Jonathan Kitchens.

Special music will be performed by Avery Kitchens, Nikki Kitchens, Kyle Kitchens, and Aubrie Kitchens.
