Obituary - ZEBULON
– George Preston Sutton, 85, went home to be with his Lord on January 14, 2022.

Funeral, Tuesday, January 18, 6:00 PM, Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Dr N, Wilson, followed by a time of visiting and sharing. Burial, Cedar Grove Cemetery, Elm City, Wednesday, 11:00 AM.

Preston attended school in Elm City. He worked at Burlington Mills and other companies around Rocky Mount doing mill work. He was a funny man and had sayings no one else would think about. He loved his family and if you were his friend, it was for life. During his time at Zebulon Rehabilitation Facility, he would order Bibles and religious materials and he would witness to people. If you were a new patient or new employee, you would receive one of those Bibles or reading materials and he would witness and try to win you to Christ. He will be missed by all who were fortunate to have come in contact with him.

He is survived by his sisters, Jean Little of Wilson, Peggy Coley (Junior) of Zebulon and Ann Jones of Wake Forest; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Lucy Williams of Rocky Mount.

Preceding him in death was his parents, Herman and Ruby Sharpe Sutton of Wilson County; sister, Cora Surles Bailey "Tootsie"; brothers, Jack and Jimmy Sutton.
