Mary Jane Elkins, formally Mary Jane Williams, was born February 13, 1927 in Rising Star, Texas and died Friday 4, at 1:40 p.m. at the Calcutta House in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5 – 7 PM at Edwards Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Friday, February 11, 2022 at The U. S. National Cemetery in Ft. Smith, Arkansas under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home, in Ft. Smith.

She was married to Richard Elkins of Lafayette, La. She is survived by her husband Richard Elkins for 61 years; son Lou Young and wife Linda of Lafayette, LA;, son Dennis Young and wife Terri of Crane, TX;, step-son Steve Elkins and wife Mary of Albuquerque, NM.; One brother Jack Williams and wife Kathy of Roland, OK.; seven grand children and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Amber Gay Young, step-daughter June Cooper, brother Clayton Williams, brother Colonel Winifred G. Williams and her parents, mother Virginia Elizabeth Lee Williams and father Jack Turner Williams.

Mother loved to travel, read, dance and most of all she love her family and friends.
