Richard John Harris, age 72, of National City, Michigan passed away on February 6, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 24, 1949 to the late John and Mary (Baase) Harris. Richard married the love of his life, Sharon (Bershing) Harris, in 1970 and had an amazing 52 years together. They are former residents of Burt, Michigan before moving to National City. Richard worked 41 years for General Motors, primarily as a core maker, and retired in 2005. He was a member of the UAW. Richard was a loving and dedicated son, husband, father, and brother. He loved being with his family and was an outdoor enthusiast, loved nature and animals, and he had 2 cats that he loved dearly. He was a sportsman, hunter, Harley rider, and Detroit Tigers fan. Richard is survived by his wife, Sharon Harris; sons, Gary (Amanda) Harris, Christopher Harris; daughter, Anna (Tyson) Boquette; siblings, Susan Nickell, David (Muriel) Harris, Carolyn (Lenny) Hicks, Don (Betsy) Harris, Ron (Paula) Harris, Ed (Tammy) Harris, Bill Harris; sister-in-law, Jan Bershing; brother-in-law, Bob (Sue) Bershing; grandchildren, Kathryn Harris, Rachel Harris, Colton Boquette, Addyson Boquette, Brooklyn Boquette and many nieces and nephews. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Harris.
