Howard Lee Baker, Sr., 72, of Galien, MI, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at his home. He was born January 11, 1950 to the late Luther and Emma Baker in Trumann, AR.

Howard loved to hunt, fish, and drink a beer, Milwaukee's Best. He especially enjoyed hunting with his buddies, Ronald Hemminger, Howard Jr., Howard III, Sam Culvahouse, and Danny Arnold. Howard worked at Tru Die Cast Manufacturing in New Troy, MI and as a junker on the side. After his retirement, he started a lawn care business with Melissa.

Howard is survived by his wife, Melissa Hillman; sons, Howard Lee Baker, Jr., Brian Chastian, Johnny Monroe; daughters, Joan Baker, Janet Baker, Casey Hillman, Ruthie Hillman, Sunshine Hillman; brothers, Allen Baker, Mark Black; sisters, Betty Gamble, Linda Day, Sandra Baker, Christine Russo; 25 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Emma; son, James Baker; daughters, Rebecca Baker, Christina Lincoln; ex-wife, Kathy Baker; brothers, Pete Black, Richard Black, Tony Black; sisters, Anita Parker, Carolyn Black; granddaughter, Ayla Shook; and great-grandson, Isaiah Walkden.

Funeral service for Howard will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, MI. Visitation will take place 2 hours prior to the service. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery,Chikaming Twp, MI.
