Don Cannon, Sr., 78, of Diana, passed from this life on Thursday, February 3, 2022, in Longview, Texas. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Don was born February 24, 1943, in Deport, Texas, to Melvin William and Beulah May Thomas Cannon. He worked for many years as a deputy for the Henderson County Sheriff's Office and served in the Texas State Guard. Later he worked for Martin Gas in Longview, until retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Cannon.
He is survived by his sons, Don Cannon, Jr., William Black and wife, Jacqueline; daughters, Sharon Brown, Victoria Cannon, Kathy Cannon; brother, Edwin "Pete" Cannon; sister, Anita Lucas; numerous grandchildren, including Kendall Marie Cannon, Stephen Nation and wife, Alex, Josie Gamez; a great granddaughter, Autumn Nation; special niece, Debbie Bradford; special friend, Paul Petty and best friends, Charles and Scherryl Gamez.
Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Croley Funeral Home with burial following at Hoover Cemetery. A visitation period will be held from 12:00 Pm to 1:00 Pm prior to the service.
