David L. Boyles, 53, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Swedish Medical Center in Denver, CO.
He was born on May 6, 1968 in Alliance to Glenwood "Jim" and Ruby (Krueger) Boyles. He graduated from Mullen High School in 1986. He attended Mid Plains Community College for 1 semester and then began working for Gary McLoad near Mullen. He later moved to Box Butte County and worked for Barry Casey and later Progress Rail. He worked as a locomotive mechanic and later formed his own company, Boyles Consulting. He also worked in railroad materials salvaging at Chamberlain, SD.
He met Teresa Hoelting in Alliance and they were married on September 10, 1994 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Two children, Dominick and Adrianna were born to this union.
David was a member of Holy Rosary Church and was active as a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. David enjoyed hunting and fishing with his kids and their friends and with his new found South Dakota friends. He also coached baseball, junior tackle football and wrestling and was an avid fan of the Cornhuskers and 49'ers. David and Teresa have organized and run the People Helping People Thanksgiving Dinner program for 30 years. He also was a member of the Sons of the American Legion # 300 and recently became a member of the Eagles Club. He loved to cook for family and friends, he always said he wasn't a good cook, just liked to "practice" and it was a "hobby" he enjoyed.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa, his children, Dominick of Lincoln and Adrianna of Alliance, adopted sons, BJ and Kyle Krantz, his mother and step-father, Ruby and Mike O'Connor of Hemingford, his siblings , Ray Stites of Hemingford, Ruby Bingham, Robert Boyles, Steven Boyles, Angel Boyles, Sonja Boyles Peters and Coleen Boyles Springman. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, Darlene and Bill Osborn, Mullen, Leta and Mike Cox of Alliance and Nila Pettit of North Platte as well as numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Boyles, his brother, John Stites, his uncle and aunt who raised him, Melvin and Faye Boyles, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Francis and Anna Hoelting, his sister-in-law, Karen Hoelting and his close friend, Charlie Krantz.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Matt Koperski officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A wake service will be Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church.
