Marinda Bowen was born in 1864 (she may have died before 1900)to Dal Bowen and Elizabeth McConnell. Elizabeth and William Davis married May 29 1866.
Their children besides Nancy Jane included:

John Wesley Davis 1870-Dec 1 1928
Mary Ellen Davis April 18 1874-Jun 21 1952
Rose E. Davis Sept 11 1879-Mar 5 1941
George W. Davis Aug 25 1885-May 28 1918
Nancy Jane Davis married Elonzo Ervan Comstock and had three children:
William Ervan Comstock
Elonzo Alexander Comstock, Jr
Baby Girl Comstock
In December of 1918, Nancy lost her son, her daughter-in-law and a granddaughter that was 8 years old. Also dying during that time were her daughter-in-law's parents, her daughter-in-law's brother-in-law and nephew.
Nancy and Elonzo E. took her son's three living daughters to raise and from accounts from two of them, Pauline and Margie, "Grandma Comstock" was quite stern, to put it nicely.
Nancy died a widow, in 1960 after years of having her clothes ready for such a thing. She was survived by many grandchildren and many more great grandchildren.

Something that my mother remembers about her great grandmother: When Grandma Comstock would come stay with them, they always knew in the mornings when she was up and awake: they could smell her Sloan's Liniment.
