BARKER, Darius Mrs.
January 25, 1901 (Friday) newspaper
The funeral of Mrs. Darious Barker was held Tuesday at St. Mark's Episcopal church, Rev. Woodford P. Law of South Haven officiating. Deceased was the widow of Rev. D. Barker, who was for many years rector of this parish, and it was largely through their efforts that the church here was erected. Mrs Barker was 90 years of age, and had passed an interesting and useful life. She and her sister were schoolmates of Whittier. In the early day they moved to (Ann? illegible) Arbor where they opened a select school, selling their jewels to carry on the work. Two years ago she moved to Nebraska with her daughter (Abbie Shaw) and from there her body was brought back to be buried here beside her husband who died a few years ago.
