Larry Lee Allen, 83, passed from this life on January 21, 2022 following a lengthy illness. Larry was born in Ryan, Oklahoma on December 10, 1938 to Frank and Bessie Painter Allen.

Larry grew up outside Ryan, Oklahoma. He was reared in the Baptist faith. He attended Irving high school graduating 1956. He then attended Cameron College in Lawton, Oklahoma and Central State in Edmond, Oklahoma graduating in 1960. He received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1966 from the Oklahoma City University School of Law.

He met Debbie Scott in Checotah, Oklahoma where they were married February 2, 1984 at their home.

Larry had a varied work experience. In the summers of 1955 and 1956 he worked at the Green Giant Cannery in Illinois. From 1957 to 1963, he worked on the Rock Island Railroad as a fireman. During that same time, he worked at the Tinker Air Force Base from 1961 to 1966. Then, from 1966 to 1970, he worked for Traveler's Insurance. He served as Assistant District Attorney in Eufaula, Oklahoma from 1971 to 1978. He was in private law practice in Checotah, Oklahoma from 1979 to 1999. He was always known as a fair-minded man.
Larry enjoyed bass fishing, four-wheeling, and riding his Honda Goldwing across the United States. While he was a farmer at heart and enjoyed working on his place, he loved to travel. He never took the main road. Instead, he chose the scenic routes where he could see the country. Larry made three road trips to Old Mexico. Another love in his life was flying. He owned a couple of airplanes and was an instrument rated pilot.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bessie Allen; brother, Troy Allen; mother-in-law, Ruby Scott; brother-in-law, Max Kafer; nieces, Kathy Multanner and Julie Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie; son, Gregory Lee Allen of Henryetta, Oklahoma; daughter, Michelle Leigh Allen (Angel) of Webbers Falls, Oklahoma; brothers, Jimmy Allen (Kay) of Jones, Oklahoma and Eddie Allen of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Helen Kafer of Duncan, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Amanda Leigh Allen, Lacey "LuLu" Leigh Bryant (Dakota), Tyler Downs, and Aranda Hyslop; great grandchildren, Sylar Lee, Gabriel, Michael, Phinehas, and Eden Bryant and sister-in-law, Joan Allen.

Larry was loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
