Donald Wayne "Don" Lemons Cook was the son of the late Velma Geneva McKelvey Cook and William Ray Cook. Don's biological father was Homer Dillard Lemons, of Union County, South Carolina. His parents divorced when Don was a baby. William Ray Cook married Don's mother in 1947, adopted Don and loved him just as he loved Linda and Jim.
Don is survived by his son Michael Kelvin Cook (Laurel) and his grandson Michael Hugh "Mikey" Cook. He is also survived by his brother, James R "Jim" Cook (Cindy) and his sister Linda Cook Brewer (Jim) also of Oklahoma City. He also leaves behind several loving nieces and nephews. Don is also survived by his Brothers Ray (Wanda) and Jimmy Lemons from Union, SC; His brother Ned (Rachel) from Pacolet, SC; his sisters Sue L. Farr (Jerry) and Easter L. Steele from Jonesville, SC. and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by the death of his brothers: Orien, Willie, Dean Lemons; and his sister Doris L. Canupp.
Don was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He was also a gifted and talented artist. He painted and sold beautiful paintings of pastoral scenes, farmhouses, barns, old cars, churches, trucks and birds. He was a talented painter. He will surely be missed by all his relatives and friends.
