Donald Wayne Ballard, 72, of Lincoln County, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 at his home. Born Sunday, March 13, 1949 in Wolfe County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Jesse Donald & Myrtle Nell Cable Ballard. Donald was a former forklift operator for Hospital Specialty, and a member of Grace Fellowship Church. He enjoyed fishing, wood-working, four-wheeling and working on cars. Donald was a United States Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Faye Ballard, and one brother, Jerry Lee Ballard.
Survivors include a son, Matthew Wayne Ballard, of Lexington; daughters, Dana Marie (Emmanuel) Taylor, of Lexington, Debra Ann Carmack, of Glasgow; step-daughter, Angie (Scott) Haggas, of Loudon, Tennessee; brothers, William L. (Mary) Ballard, Stephen Ray Ballard, both of Lancaster; sisters, Janet Sue (Jeff) Northern, of Stanford, Jessica Ann (Mark) Lawrence, of Lancaster, seven grandchildren & five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Monday, January 31, 2022 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Tom Graef & Vola Brown officiating and burial following at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Full military honors will be performed by Caswell Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion. Pallbearers include John Hall, Emmanuel Taylor, Chris Ballard, Rick Ballard, Jeff Northern, Mark Lawrence, Ryan Lawrence, & Steve Ballard. Honorary pallbearers are his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
