Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Frank P. Floyd and Lilah Buchanan Floyd. She was the widow of Virgil Tracy Grissom.
Mrs. Grissom retired from Roses Stores Inc., and was a member of Gillburg United Methodist Church and in her later years she attended Clearview Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Clearview Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Abidan Shah. The burial will be private.
Surviving are her children, Wayne Grissom (Claudia), Gail Ivey, Ann Game (Willie), grandchildren, Matthew Grissom (Brooke), Stephanie Ranes (Tony) and Tracy Batts (Greg); great-grandchildren, Mattie Grissom, Lauren Somma (Vinny), Owen Batts and Ivey Batts and a great great-grandchild Parks Somma; brother, Thomas Floyd; and a special family friend, Rodney Peoples. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sister, Lucille Perry, Francis Floyd Charles Floyd and a son-in-law, Harold Ivey.
The family wishes to give a "Special Thank You" to Mrs. Grissom's caregivers, Brenda Gupton, Deborah Wilson, Judy Stokes, Maxine Coppedge, Pandora Jones, Patrice Johnson and Hazel Hayes.
The family will receive friends at her home.
