Brenda Gail Horan, 63, of South Point, OH passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022, at King's Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, KY. She was born December 31, 1958, in Ashland, KY, a daughter of Garland Kearns and the late Helen Kearns. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael Brandon Horan and one brother, Paul Chester Kearns. Brenda was the founder and director of Michaels Grace Place. She loved her community. Brenda was always willing to help with anything and she never met a stranger. She was nominated for Hometown Hero. Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Michael Horan; two children, Matthew Horan and Monica Werkheiser; two brothers, James Kearns and Brian Kearns; one sister, Karen Pinkerman; six grandchildren, Gavin Horan, Killian Werkheiser, Zackary Horan, Hadley Werkheiser, Alexandria Horan, and Declan Werkheiser. Funeral service will be 10 AM Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Tri-State Worship Center, South Point, OH with Pastor Terry Wagner officiating. Burial will follow at White Cottage Cemetery, South Point, OH. Friends and family may visit from 6PM – 8PM, Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Tri-State Worship Center. Friends and family may also visit from 9AM- 10AM, Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Tri-State Worship Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local food bank or homeless shelter.
