Christa Noel Jackson, 42, left her earthly struggles behind Monday,
May 9, 2016, and will join her mother in Heaven to rest in peace forever.
Christa was born in Barberton on Dec. 16, 1973, and spent the first half of her life as a Rittman resident, where she graduated from Rittman High School in 1992.
The Rittman community and the friendships formed there always held a special place in Christa's heart. After her service in the Army Reserve, she found the rest of her life in Akron. The surgical technician training she received in the army helped prepare her for important roles at the Akron City and St. Thomas Hospitals. Currently, she was employed by The United Parcel Service in Wadsworth.
Christa was a member of Unitarian Universalist Church in Fairlawn. She valued the relationships formed there and the opportunity to help the young people in the classes she taught.
An important cause for Christa was raising funds and awareness for cancer research. In recent years she completed multiple 60 mile/3-day walks to gain significant donations.
Another special part of her life was the care and devotion for her pets, especially her dog Lexi and cats Eli and Emmie.
With her bubbly personality and warm smile, friends saw her as the "Mayor of Highland Square." Christa was loved by all that knew her, and everybody knew her. Many days you could find her in a coffee shop talking and laughing and making sure the room was full of joy. Her passing is a great loss to her community, but especially to her cherished group of close-knit friends.
Beyond her circle of friends and neighborhood she was blessed with a large, loving and supportive family to which she was also an enormous blessing. Her roles as a loving daughter, caring sister, proud aunt and a bright light to a grand extended family will be deeply missed forever.
Preceded in death by mother, Donna in 1993; grandfathers,
Dudley Crippen in 1991, Frank Jackson in 2007, and grandmother,
Clara Jackson in 2014.
Survivors include her father, stepmother, a sister, a brother, nephews, a niece, grandmothers, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, Fairlawn
Private inurnment will be in Rittman Cemetery.
