Joseph "Joe" was a caring and loving son, husband, brother, and friend. Joe left this world on February 6, 2022, at the age of 62, after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma (brain cancer).
He was born June 6, 1959. He was loved by his parents, Donald and Beverley Wood. Joe was raised in Scottsdale, Arizona where he started his career in Business management. He left Arizona in the early 80's to find his fortune and ended up in Oklahoma where he became a self-made man in retail, working his way up to store owner of Mayfair Market IGA.
Joe's accomplishments are too many to list. Joe was a man's man. He was direct and honest; you always knew where you stood. Joe loved his family and friends. He was your biggest supporter and took great pride in others' accomplishments.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Beverley Ann Wood.
Joe is survived by his wife, Tamara Wood, and children, Nick Wood, Benjamin Wood, and Blake Wilbanks and wife Jessica, all of Oklahoma City. Other survivors include his in-laws, Rick and Freida Johnson of Choctaw Oklahoma, Shelley Tigner, and Curtis Johnson of Oklahoma City, Mark, Steve and wife Theresa, and Mike Smith of Florida; father, Donald Wood and wife Pat of New Mexico; siblings, Marilee Hill and husband Jim and family, Russell Wood and wife Christine and family, and CarrieAnn Cook and husband William (Red) and family, all of Arizona.
Joe's friends and coworkers loved him and leaned on him for advice. We will all honor his legacy by living life to the fullest. No Regrets.
