James Paul Chapman, 93, died Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Western Plains Medical Complex. He was born on July 25, 1928 in Butler, Oklahoma the son of Paul and Nancy (Beeson) Chapman.
James grew up in Barry County, Missouri. He moved to Dodge City from Wichita Kansas 48 years ago.
On December 26, 1952 he married Marie Chapman at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on July 9, 2003.
He was stationed in Germany as a diesel mechanic with the United States Army and continued as a diesel mechanic throughout his life.
James loved his family and also had a love for volunteering, traveling and taking lots of photos on these trips, he also enjoyed doing genealogy research. The last job he had was working for the train station which he worked at until November of last year.
