Norma Kay Mitchell, 65, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022, at home surrounded by loved ones. Norma was born March 4, 1956, in Stanly County to the late Bruce Ethan Burris and the late Laura Mae Burris. She was also preceded in death by husband Bobby Blake Jr. and husband Walter Mitchell; brother, Richard Burris.

Norma was a nurse in her early years, She always put God first, and her family. She was a passionate pianist and gospel singer, was a member of Homeward Bound Gospel group. She ministered for the Lord in the Prison Ministries. She loved her Bible and loved to quote scripture. Norma liked to watch the waves of the tide and eat crab legs. Norma was many things to many people and will be loved and missed by many people.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday, February 7, 2022, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Freedom Holiness 20244 US-52, Albemarle, NC 28001. Burial will follow at the Parker Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery at 49403 Parker Memorial Rd, Richfield, NC 28137.

Survivors include two sons; two daughters; two step-children; four brothers; two grandchildren, Cody (Grayson) Funderburk, and Courtlyn Butler; and many nieces and nephews.
