Jerry Lee Burns, age 87, of Dayton, formerly of Louisville, KY passed away unexpectedly on February 1, 2022. Jerry was born in Utica, Mississippi to the late Tommie and Mayberta Burns. He owned a cleaning company and was a retired truck driver. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed fishing, gardening, tinkering with anything that needed fixed, and spending time with his family. He was a longtime deacon and board member at his church in Louisville, KY. Jerry had a huge heart and dedicated his life to caring for others as a foster parent and caregiver to many. He was a caring, king, and compassionate husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Burns; son, Roshina Burns; daughter, Candace Burns; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters....

A Celebration of Life will be held at Schlientz and Moore Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 11, 2022 at 7pm. Visitation for two hours prior (5pm-7pm). Burial to take place at Green Meadows Cemetery, Louisville, KY on Saturday, February 12, 2022.
