Carroll Otho Jenkins, 69, of Leon, departed this life Saturday, March 2, 2012, at CAMC Memorial following an extended illness. He was born September 18, 1942 at Huntington, son of the late Colonel and Bertha Jenkins. He was a lifelong laborer in the construction industry and was known throughout the area for his handmade canes, which he sold at local farmers markets. Surviving: son, Danny Jenkins (Lisa) of Parkersburg; daughters, Debbie Jenkins Davidson (Jason) of Parkersburg and Barbara Jenkins Ayers (Arthur) of Sandyville; brothers, Clevelan Ford Jenkins, Ray Nelson Jenkins, Robert Lee Jenkins, Carlton Eugene Jenkins, and Jimmy Leon Jenkins; sister, Clora Ann Jenkins Edmunds; thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Carroll was preceded in death by brothers, Bernard Lee Jenkins and Emory William Jenkins. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 8, at 1 pm at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Warren Baker officiating. Interment will follow at the Creston Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home two hours prior to the service Thursday.
