St Augustine, Florida - Sister Joyce Marie Newton, SSJ, born in Lebanon Junction, Kentucky, on July 13, 1939, died on Thursday, July 1, 2021, in St. Augustine. Sister Joyce, also known as Sr. Rose Anthony, was a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph for 64 years. She served throughout the State of Florida as a teacher, in parish ministry and religious education, a chaplain at Mercy Hospital, Miami, and as a docent in St. Augustine. Her vigil services will be held at the Motherhouse on Monday, July 5th and the funeral liturgy will be on Tuesday, July 6th. Space is limited to the Sisters and Sr. Joyce's family.
