Shirley A. Steele, of State College, formerly of Millheim and Coburn, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. She was 68. Born August 19, 1953 in Bellefonte, Shirley was a daughter of the late Ralph S. and Mary "Yothers" Snyder. She was a 1971 graduate of Penns Valley High School. On September 1, 1973, Shirley married Charles H. Steele who preceded her in death on December 1, 1984

Shirley was a homemaker and a babysitter of local children. She enjoyed bowling, taking drives, tubing, picnics with family and friends and watching Chicago PD.

Shirley is survived by one son, David Steele of State College; one grandson, Charles E. Bailor of Milroy, and four siblings, Carl Snyder (Debbie) of New Cumberland, Tom Snyder of Philipsburg, Jean Jackson (Rick) of Shingletown and Linda Johnson (Ray) of Philipsburg. She was also an aunt and great aunt to multiple nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter Karen L. Bailor.

The family would like to send special thanks to Centre Volunteer in Medicine, especially Sara Ramos, Holly Torbic and Dr. John Coppes.

visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 noon until 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm with Pastor Theresa Heiser officiationg. Shirley will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Millheim. Contributions in her memory may be given to Centre Volunteers in Medicine, 2520 Green Tech Dr. Ste D, State College PA 16803 or to Alzheimers Association, 225 N Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
