Bernadette "Bernie" Burgess, 75, of Windsor Locks, widow of Robert Burgess (2019), entered into eternal peace Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born and raised in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Erna (Rudolphi) Stahl. She had lived in Colorado, Chicopee, MA, Chicago, Texas, Holyoke, MA, and finally settled in Windsor Locks where she resided for the past 8 years. Bernie was formerly employed at Home Depot in West Springfield, MA retiring after 8 years. She loved her Cocker Spaniel dogs like family, having bred, trained, and groomed them for over 20 plus years.
She is survived by her children, Dagmar Berry and her husband Doug of Highland, TX, Ulrike Monzillo and her husband Joseph of Springfield, MA, Robert A. Burgess Jr. and his wife Tracy of Tolland, CT, Andreas Zeiger of Germany, a sister, Genovefa of Germany, nine grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a brother Siegfried Stahl.
A Committal service will be held at the Chapel at the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 10 a.m. Friday Feb. 11, 2022. Masks are required for entry into the Cemetery Chapel.
