OWENSBORO MESSENGER INQUIRER OBITUARY – 04/17/1933.
James U. Hayden, 77 years old, died at his home on the Wayne Bridge Road at 4 o'clock Monday morning [April 17, 1933] of complications of diseases. Surviving are his wife; four sons, Frank U., James U. Jr., & Noel Hayden all of Rome and Leslie Hayden of Calhoun; and six daughters, Mrs. James T. O'Bryan, Mrs. George Schwartz, of Stanley, Mrs. Pat Ballard of Stanley, Mrs. Joe Ballard. Mrs. Wathen Head, and Miss Wilma Hayden, of Rome; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Higgins, of Owensboro; one brother, Jerome Hayden of Evansville; and thirty-nine grandchildren. Funeral services will he held at St. Stephens Catholic Church at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning with burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Active - Edward & Urban O'Bryan, Bernard & Herman Hayden, Dennis Ballard and Jimmy Sims; Honorary - Thomas Hayden, Frank Shively, J.P. O'Bryan, Joe Sims, Virgil Hayden and Hurm Hayden.
