Cynthia Lou "Cindy" Lovell, age 63 and a lifelong resident of Elwood, passed away gently on Thursday, February 3, 2022 surrounded by her family at Ascension-St. Vincent Carmel Hospital following extensive health challenges. She was born September 19, 1958 in Elwood, the daughter of George "Pete" Mason and Barbara (Cox) Mason. Cindy was a 1977 graduate of Elwood Community High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles M. "Charlie" Lovell on May 27, 1977, and they shared over 27 years of marriage together until his passing in 2005. Cindy retired in 2005 as a bail bondsman agent for Midwest Bonding, a business that she and Charlie worked in together for several years. She also formerly worked at Red Gold in Elwood and Wickes Lumber in Elwood and Anderson.

Cindy was a hard-working person who faced health challenges that changed her life forever. Despite that, she never gave up on anything. Cindy enjoyed her life in many ways. She loved camping, shopping, and riding around in her golf cart. She also enjoyed working with her computer, socializing and playing computer games. She especially enjoyed watching football every Sunday, and she was an avid Colts fan. More than anything, Cindy's four beloved grandchildren and her "adopted family members" were the joy of her life. She loved nothing more than spending time with them and being their "Mamaw". Cindy's family finds comfort knowing that she has been reunited in Heaven with Charlie.

Cindy's family includes her father, George "Pete" (Karen) Mason of Davenport, FL; son, Corie (Juanita) Lovell of Elwood; daughter, Heather Lovell of Elwood; 4 grandchildren, Mason Lovell, Chase Lovell, David Hobbs II, and Charcin Hobbs all of Elwood; 5 siblings, Kathy (Joe) Miller of Elwood, Diane (Alan) Seastrand of Davenport, FL, Debbie Rose of Florida, Doug (Jenny) Mason of Russiaville, and Greg Bunch of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. Cindy was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Barbara and Larry "Rex" Smith; husband, Charlie Lovell; 2 brothers, Daren Smith and Eric Smith; and a brother-in-law, Howard Koch-Bunch.

A funeral service celebrating Cindy's life and legacy will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Mark Hahn of Southside Community Church officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 to 7 pm on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. Health precautions for the safety of the family and visitors are greatly appreciated.
