James Edward "Jimmy" Burgess, 54, of Gaston, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 04, 2022. Born on May 10, 1967 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Larry E. Burgess and Deborah A. Reese.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.
He is predeceased by his beloved mother, Deborah A. Reese; father, Larry E. Burgess; step father, Henry "Tug" Reese; and his nephew, Brandon A. Burr.
Jimmy lived life to the absolute fullest and anyone that knew him knew he did it his way. Jimmy was the true definition of a jack of all trades as there was nothing he couldn't build or fix. Jimmy was a die hard Carolina Gamecock fan and on Sundays you could find him watching NASCAR. In his free time he loved grilling, swimming, and hanging out by his pool. He recently became a grandfather, "Paw Paw", of which he was the most proud, and he loved spending time with his grandson, Bennett. He was at his happiest as he had reconnected and married the love of his life, Tammy. Jimmy loved all of his friends and family dearly and he will be greatly missed by all.
