Her grandchildren who she loved dearly. Tyler, Sophie, Ryan, Dallas, Corey Jr, Mia, Liam and Harper. Her Cousins Lisa Middlebrook, Jimmy Pettinicchi, Tony Pettinichi and Kathleen Pettinicchi. Nephews and nieces by marriage Karen "Tina" Tipton, Dannie Long, Michael Wharton, Aaron Wharton, Stephen Wharton, Buddy Anderson, Donnie Anderson Jr, Linda Anderson, and Carol Anderson.
Connie had so many special people in her life of 74 years. Her best friend Linda Monford and her family from Texas, Combs Family from Cape May NJ, Palmere, Lamancusa, Murray, Bohanan, Cullison, Dorn, Fennekohl, Moretz, Kimmel, Watchinsky, Greason, Kirby, and Santana family just to name a few. So many amazing neighbors and friends over the years from TX, Guam, NY, NJ, CA, FL, AK and MD to mention them all.
On January 30th 2022, the world lost a beloved mother in Connie J. Anderson. Connie was born in Galveston, TX where she grew up and attended the all-girls Catholic School of Ursuline Academy. After graduating high school and while attending secretarial trade school she met her Husband Ernest L. Anderson Sr. who passed away in January 2021. Connie and Ernie were married at St. Mary's Cathedral and had been married for over 50 years. They had 3 sons and a loving life together. Ernie was a 30 year Coast Guard Veteran and often at sea for long periods at a time and Connie spent most of her time raising the 3 boys. Being a stay at home mom with three boys was never easy. The family lived pay check to pay check so life was stressful at times. She enjoyed going to the drive-in movies, bowling, and even enjoyed fishing with her husband and all her boys when they went to the Marathon Keys. Connie did not enjoy cleaning the fish so Dad would step in, but she had fun catching them! Connie loved taking her boys to the beach wherever we lived but was always worried about them going too far out in the Ocean! She also enjoyed all the traveling and Historic sights she visited over the years with being a Military Family. Connie was a beautiful woman and the boys remember her getting whistles and hooting and howling from construction workers that they didn't like when Dad wasn't around, but sure she ate it up!
Connie was very caring, loving, and always there when her kids were sick. She would break out the humidifier and immediately start feeding her boys chicken noodle soup and Vitamin C. She was so adamant about her 3 boys taking their daily Vitamin C. When necessary she knew how to discipline the boys when they were out of line with a good smack or tug of the ear. Over the years there were countless times where she had to take the boys to practice for football, wrestling, or baseball when Dad was coaching one of the other boys or was away, Connie would always pick up the slack. She handled the daily routines of getting the boys up and ready for school and all the thrills of afterschool duties as well. She took pride in making sure dinner was ready for her family even if she wasn't the greatest cook. Sometimes it was fish sticks, boiled hot dogs on the stove using bread for buns, mac and cheese, corndogs, some green pepper burgers with onions, or meatloaf which Dad loved but the boys couldn't stand. But she could make a great lasagna! Connie was always in charge of taking the boys to doctors' visits and the dentist. When Chris and Corey left home and went off to the Military or when EJ had to leave home, Connie was heartbroken after they left. She loved all her boys and husband so much! Looking back now and reflecting, we were fortunate to have her as our Mom!

Short Story- When we were living in Lakewood California my Grandmother Emma moved in with us when she was diagnosed with Breast cancer and was given one year to live. My parents decided she needed to be with us and my mother took care of her. It was hard on mom, taking her to Chemo Therapy appointments and doing all she could to take care of her Mom as well as raise us. Amazingly, my Grandmother ended up living about 10 more years. Mom showed so much strength and heart during this time as she watched her mom fight this cancer and it was really hard on her at the end. My Mom was an only child and her mother was her best Friend. She never gave up and I do believe it took a toll on my mom mentally. My mom was so strong during all this time and I feel her strength came out in her last few hours on this Earth. She was telling the nurses to not fuss over her and she wanted them to keep the T.V. on as her lungs were collapsing. My mom always would brag how she gave birth to her youngest boy EJ with NO epidural, no pain killers and a complete natural birth. This just shows the pain tolerance this woman had and how tough she really was!

Another Short Story- We were living in Huntington Beach, CA. Chris was at baseball practice at Marina High School and EJ and Corey were playing in the back yard. EJ was about 6 years old and went to the side of the house and was playing on this big broken down 10 speed bike that had no bike chain on it. He slipped off and his shin caught the sprocket and the sprocket of the bike went through his leg/shin. Blood was everywhere and I remember pulling him off the bike and carrying him to Mom in the house. Mom didn't completely panic. She moved into action fast because she could tell EJ was losing a lot of blood. She was worried and I remember the look on her face like it was yesterday. She grabbed a towel and wrapped his leg up and started applying pressure to the wound. She carried him outside to the car where we all piled up in the station wagon and rushed off to the hospital! The first hospital we stopped at refused service because we were military and at the time for whatever reason, they didn't take military insurance. My Mom had a few choice words and the middle finger for the person that didn't let us in that hospital. She ran back to our car and pealed wheels out of there and got us to a different hospital. EJ ended up getting 37 stitches that day. When Dad got home from work all he saw in the house was blood on the floor in the kitchen and dining room, and had no clue was happened until we all got home. But she showed great resolve and urgency in this situation and how she would do anything for her boys.

Connie was a great wife, mother, and grandmother. We will miss her but we know she is in a better place. I try and imagine how Mom and Dad were when they first met in Galveston. I can see them carrying on, joking, flirting and so in love. I will always remember them talking about their fun stories from their Honeymoon in New Orleans or adventures they had with their boys and how proud they were of their three boys and her 8 Grandchildren. Even the days leading up to Connie's Death all she could talk about was her Grandchildren! This is how I imagine them in Heaven, in love and reminiscing over their Great times they had with the Family and watching over us from above!
