Charles Earnest Young, age 89 of Morganton, GA passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022. Charles was born on September 19,1932 to his late parents Herman and Lucile Eva (Atkins) Young. Charles was a graduate of Gilmer High School. He served his country honorably in the US Army. Charles was employed by Young's TV Repair. Charles was a member and a Deacon (Ordained April 28th, 1974) at Rock Creek Baptist Church. Charles is preceded in death by his wife Venalee Green Young,and brother Eugene Cecil Young.
Survivors include a daughter, a son , grandchildren and great grandchildren. A brother, sisters, and a sister-in-law and special friends. Several nieces and nephews survive.
Visitation will be on Wednesday February 9, 2022 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Rock Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow in the Rock Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors performed by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Dillon Wright, Austin Wright, Micah Gilbert, Samuel Gilbert, Brian Roper, and Mark Hice serving as pallbearers. Flowers are being accepted.
