Joyce Marie "Jacki" Woodard Baker, age 82, passed away Saturday evening. Born in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Bernice Bascum Woodard and the late Ethel Mae Hatcher Woodard and wife of the late George Allen Baker.

Jacki was a member of the Mount Olive Presbyterian Church where she sang in the church choir. She taught school in the Wayne County Public Schools for 40 years.

A service to celebrate Jacki's life will be held Thursday, January 20th at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Diane Knauf officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home. A private committal service will be held at Wayne Memorial Park.

She is survived by her daughters, Michele Baker Ford and her husband, Howard and Holly Baker Harris; three grandchildren, Jordan Ford, Jenna Nuneviller and her husband, Brodie, and Kyle Harris; along with a great grandchild, Ryleigh Nuneviller.
